Italians are generally praised for being good at preserving culture, landscape, and their own history. Italy has preserved the most historical, cultural and natural sites that are very useful in history and modern civilization. The country is very aware and proud of what they have to offer in terms of culture.
We cannot talk about Italian culture without mentioning Italian foods, drinks, and cheese. It is interesting to note that Italy to date has contributed over 450 different types of cheese that have been officially recorded.
One of the beautiful aspects of this is in what they are called, for example, names like Parmesan, Gonzola, Mozarella, Ricotta, and many more. Many of these cheese types are also named about cities or towns in Italy.
Italians love their wine, this is evident in the fact that the country is one of the biggest producers of wine in the world. They produce over 40 to 50 hectolitres a year which means that they are producing one-third of the world’s wine demands.
Italian wine is well respected and loved across the world, as they are notably one of the oldest producers of wine. Interestingly Italians consume a very large portion of their wines, they currently rank 5th in the world for wine consumption with 42 liters per capita.
In Italy, there is an official wine classification system that they invented which has now become a template for many other wine-producing countries.
Italians are known to have created ice cream and also food pies and coffee. Arguably, the origin of ‘Pizza’ is undetermined and many people disagree on this topic, however, it is known that pizza became popular because of the city of Naples.
The world has now come to love this food, because of how well Italians have taken the world around the world especially in the USA.
Italians are very religious people, the vast majority of whom are Catholics. Modern Rome has more than 900 Christian churches than any other city. Italy is home to some of the best art in the world, and many other famous art pieces have Italian origin or are by Italian artists.
Italians are also known for looking sharp, luxurious and are always well dressed, this is also significant in the fact that one of the major fashion capitals in the world, Milan, is in Italy. Fashion is a very huge export for the country with many world-renowned brands and labels founded in the country.
One funny fact that we cant omit is the fact that Italians express emotions with their speech. They have very expressive gesticulations to buttress an emotion when they speak. This is one stereotypical trait which they take pride in and the world has come to love.
